Vibes and moods

Say what you are up for without anyone having to ask.

Two small things sit on top of your position on the map: a mood and a vibe. They answer the question people would otherwise have to message you to ask.

Moods

A mood is a single emoji you set on yourself. It stays until you change it. There is no list to choose from and no meaning attached: it means whatever you and your friends take it to mean.

Vibes

A vibe is picked from a set and says what you are open to right now:

  • ✌️ Free, πŸ™Œ Down to hang
  • πŸ• Hungry, β˜• Coffee run
  • πŸŽ‰ Feeling social, πŸ—ΊοΈ Exploring
  • πŸ’» Deep in work, πŸ”• Do not disturb
  • πŸ›‹οΈ Chilling, 😴 Tired

Vibes expire, moods do not

A vibe lasts three hours and then clears itself. That is the point of it: a stale "Free" from two days ago is worse than nothing, because somebody acts on it and finds you busy. A mood has no expiry because it is not a claim about right now.

Matching

When two people in a space set compatible vibes, Circl points it out. Two people who are both hungry at 6pm usually want to know that.

Do not disturb

Setting πŸ”• tells people not to. It does not silence your notifications: it is a signal to the others, not a setting. Use your notification settings for that.
