Your profile

Photo, display name and username, and who sees them.

Three things make up how you appear: a photo, a display name and a username.

Photo

Shown on the map and beside your name everywhere. Without one you get a circle with your initial in your colour, which is perfectly usable: plenty of people never add a photo.

Display name

What people in your spaces see. You can change it whenever you like, and it does not have to be unique.

Username

Different from a display name: it is unique across Circl, and changing it is limited to once every 7 days. See Changing your username.

Who can see it

Anyone in a space with you. There is no public profile and no way to look someone up who is not in one of your spaces.

If something is locked

An account can have specific changes restricted. If a field will not let you edit it, see A feature is unavailable.
