Reporting a bug from inside the app

Shake your phone to send a report from the screen it happened on.

If something in the app misbehaves, the fastest way to tell us is from the place it went wrong.

Shake to report

Shake your phone, on iPhone or Android. A Report a Bug sheet opens, you describe what happened, and you send it.

It is quicker than writing in, and more useful to us, because the report carries the details we would otherwise have to ask for.

What gets sent

Your description, plus three technical details shown on the sheet before you send:

  • The app version you are running
  • Your device model
  • Your iOS or Android version

Your username goes with it, so we know whose account to look at. No location, no messages, no photos, and nothing from your spaces.

You can send ten reports an hour. Past that it asks you to try again later.

When to use this instead of writing in

Use the shake report for something broken: a screen that will not load, a button that does nothing, a crash. It goes to the people who fix the app.

Use Contact support for a question, for anything about your account, or when you need an answer back.

A bug report is not a support ticket. You get an email confirming we have it, with your report quoted back, but it has no reference number and it is not a conversation. If you need an answer, write in instead.

If shaking does nothing

Shake detection needs the app to be open and in front of you. If you are on a screen that ignores it, or it simply will not open, write in at support@circlapp.org and describe what happened.
