Pausing location sharing

Stop sharing without leaving anything.

You can stop sharing your position while staying in your spaces. Nobody is removed, nothing is deleted, and you keep seeing everyone else.

What the others see

Your last known position stops updating. You do not vanish from the map, and there is no announcement, so people may not notice immediately: what they see is a position that has stopped moving.

This is worth understanding before relying on it. Pausing is honest about the fact that it is not invisibility.

What still works

Places, moments, activity and pings all continue. You can still see where everyone else is.

Turning it back on

Sharing resumes from your current position. The gap is not backfilled: the time you were paused simply has no data in it, and nothing reconstructs it later.

Stopping completely

If you want to be out of a space rather than paused in it, leave the space. If you want to be out of Circl, see Deleting your account.
